Kasparella 101

Like all the fun Stories, let's start from the beginning, allow me to introduce myself, Im Barbara Alejandra Moraga Ruiz, yes so many names and last names geez!! but you got it right, im a Latinoamericana, and as such we include mom and dads last names to honor each side of our ancestors, at home we tend to not love the Latinx tags or variations of it, even tho at times the term comes with good vibes since it represents all the richness of so many cultures and a long language root that we share, i prefer my label as Mexican, Damn proud of it!!

Married, 11 years now to Dr. K, A.K.A. "Kasper", it was only natural to play with our nicknames and blend them into a single word that represented our household, to me represents so much more.  As any couple that comes together with great vibes,  and the highest expectations into a marriage, you don't get the trial product anymore, this is the real deal and we don't come with manuals, so we take our time and make it work, making the best with what we got, we grew together as "adults" and work everyday as a team.  So naturally i've selected the blend of Kasper + Barbarella (my main nickname) = Kasparella to name my Blog.

Kasparella represents our biggest, most challenging and ambitious project ever... our kids! So so lucky and honored to be able to bring this humans into the world, what a crazy metamorphosis, i will never get over the feelings and realizations that giving birth produced in me and as a result a glorious crazy mix of our traits was born, the worse and the best all contain into 2 little kids, so many mysteries to discover into those tiny brains,  Zelda my first born girl and Aldebaran my 6 Year old twinky.

As a Mexican-American household with a 100% Mexican Mother born and raised at the Bordertown of Mexicali, BC Mexico, and a Dad who was born and raised on the other side of the Fence (Calexico,CA) still to a very Mexican household, we agreed since day 1 that the life we wanted for our kids was not gonna happen in our hometowns, we deeply love and respect the life that our families and friends have chosen for themselves,  sticking around to what they know surrounded by the comfort and love that only comes with massive amount of family members all reachable within 15 min distance.

So No Señor! we are Transplants, we live in Oceanside and we want to show our kids the wonders of the world, we want them to be proud of their culture to be eternal ambassadors of them (that's how i navigate) yet to appreciate and empathize with the rest of the world, after all that's our second favorite trait of Oceanside, diversity.

We will embark into our first Eurotour with our kids, we feel that it's the right age and timing is perfect, into this blog we will document our adventures, the good and the bad, raw, realistic, including our individual experiences and points of view of the same events, hopefully we look back and laugh at it and as always, we'll make the best and then learn some more.
